Night 2 at the Packers and Weight Check

Last night was a little better than our first night at home. Maddox was still up a lot early on in the night but then slept from about 5-8 am so that was nice. Our main problem now is that he doesn't like to sleep in his bed...he likes to be held when he sleeps so even though he will seemingly be asleep the moment we lay him down he will wake back up and start fussing. We tried putting him in his swing to sleep last night and that worked for about 45 minutes but then he woke back up and wouldn't sleep in there the rest of the night. So, I did what they often tell you not to do and held him and let him sleep next to me and that is when he slept for 3 hours straight and actually he probably would have slept a little longer but we had to get up to go to his doctor's appointment. I know it's a bad habit to get in to but you know you gotta do what you gotta do when you are exhausted and it's the middle of the night.

His appointment today was just to check his weight again and his skin color for jaundice. Since he had lost a fair amount of his birth weight they just wanted to make sure he hadn't lost any more. After his appointment yesterday I started supplementing him with formula since my milk hadn't come in yet. When we went in today his weight was back up to 8 lbs. even. YAY. So that was good news. And my milk had now come in so we don't have to supplement him anymore. More good news. He was starting to look a little more yellow so we were slightly concerned that we might have to treat him for jaundice but the nurse said it wasn't too bad and now that he was eating more it would go away on his own. Once again good news. We will go back to the doctor on the 16th for his 2 week check-up. We will actually see the pediatrician at this appointment.

Tomorrow will be a big day for us because we will officially be on our own. Collin's parents headed back home today and my family will leave tomorrow morning. It will be fun, scary, educational, hard, tiring, and awesome all at the same time!! I think Collin and I are both excited to figure this whole thing out together. But we will miss the help our families have given us these last couple of days. I am thankful though that we have a church family that I know we can turn to for help if we need it.

I guess that's about it for now. Here are a few pics from the last couple of days for your enjoyment :D.
