So, today I have decided to start trying to move Maddox from a 3 hour eating schedule to a 4 hour eating schedule. I'm not exactly sure how to know when a baby is ready to make that move but from what I have read it seems like most people make the move around 6-8 months and Maddox is 7 months. So far it has gone ok (we've only been at it for half a day though) but I can tell that extra hour between feedings will be a tough transition. Hopefully, he gets the hang of it quickly and once he does it will be nice to have only 4 feedings a day instead of 5.
Any moms out there who have gone through this and have advice to share feel free to do so!! Thanks!!! :D

I've never heard of this...oops! Is he eating solids? or just bottles? Who knows how I figured out some type of eating pattern, but it worked: breakfast, cereal...snack, milk & puffs...lunch, 2 jars baby food...snack, milk & fruit...dinner, 2 jars baby food. Who knows if that was right or not, but Colt is always hungry. He's like his mommy :) If they're hungry...feed 'em. Can't go wrong with that :)I CANNOT believe he's 7 months already!!!!!!
hey, i thought i would recommend a book that i love. it's wonderful for a resource when you need it randomly for ?s like this one. It's all about feeding your child from birth to when they are older, and it has honestly been one of the best books for me. i have used it on multiple occasions, and it is one of those that you can look up the issue you're having and just read about that. anyway, it's called, "Child of Mine" by Ellyn Satter. It is all things "feeding". Honestly, I have never heard of what you're asking about, either (i noticed someone else said that). although, from what you write about, it sounds like maddox just takes bottles. i have breastfed both of my kids, so i don't know if that makes a difference...BUT...i just have always gone by...if they are hungry, feed them. and, if i try to feed corban, and he seems disinterested, i stop. my advice would be...get this book! i hope you can find it useful. good luck with his eating schedule! a. thompson
I have heard of this. Several of the moms in our couples group from church made their transition around this time too. Keep it up!!
You're right...about 6 months all 4 of our little ones at school started going 4 hours between eating. They are doing food first, then decreasing the ounces of formula/breastmilk. at maddox's age he'll be getting more of his nutrition from food than bottle/breast. you're doing great!
