1st Year Book

I am so excited because today I finished Maddox's 1st year scrapbook!! I am so happy with how it turned out!! I hope it's something he (or at least his future wife) will appreciate some day!! Here are pictures of his book :D

Bottle Update

I am so thankful to report that Maddox made the transition without any problems at all. He has gone this entire week with no bottles and has done perfectly fine!! I just change him into his jammies, we say prayers and then I lay him in his bed. Most nights he has just gone right to sleep and a few he has cried less than 10 minutes before falling asleep. I am so glad this went so smoothly because I know it could have gone differently!! Yay for being finished with bottles. My baby boy is getting so big!! :D

Walking

My baby boy took his first steps this week and I could not be more thrilled. Every Tuesday we go to His Hands to help out and this week when we got there I stood him up on the floor and then he took like 3 steps towards Danielle. I was like WHOA what is happening here. He did it again several times through out the day. So fun!! He still prefers to crawl and does that pretty much all the time unless I make him walk holding my hands but at least we are making some progress here. I mean, he is getting really heavy these days so I am really ready for him to start walking. It was exciting for him to make this first move towards being a full time walker though!!

Bye Bye Bottles

Last night, Maddox had what I hope was his last bottle!! Bittersweetness!!! For the past month or so he has been doing just one bottle a day right before bed and has done great with it. He has now thoroughly mastered the sippy cup so I feel like it is time to make that next step and drop the bottle completely!! It makes me a little sad because bottles are somewhat a staple of babyhood and getting rid of them means me are leaving that behind and moving more and more into toddlerhood. I will be glad to not have to pack the bottles when we go to Texas in a few weeks but like I said it is a little bittersweet. Hopefully he still sleeps well at night once we do away with that milk right before bed. I'll update you on this after we have gone a few night without the bottle!!

Nap Regression

So Maddox has refused to take a nap the last two times I have put him down. And when I say refuse I mean sat/stood in his crib and screamed for 45+ minutes!!! I am really hoping this isn't a new reoccurring thing for him because mommy needs nap time!!! Hopefully, its just some weird thing these last couple of times that he will get over very quickly!!! HOPEFULLY!!!

iPhone Apps

Let me start out by saying that I love my iPhone!! We are a mac family and it is so nice that everything syncs together!! I thought today I would post about a few of my favorite apps...

1.
Facebook - This is probably the most used app on my phone. I love how user friendly it is and can always stay up to date with what is going on in the facebook world as well as post my own stuff easily!!

2.
Words with Friends - Such a fun game. I will admit that since I have been back from Hungary I haven't been playing as much but I do still enjoy it. The only thing I don't like is when people use the cheat websites because that just takes all the fun out of it!!

3.
Google - I love that this has the talk to type function. There have been several times that I have been in the car and need to look up something and that makes it so much easier!! It's definitely my search engine of choice.

4.
SoundTouch - This is an education app that I got for Maddox and he loves it. It has all different kinds of things like animals, automobiles, instruments, and home items on a grid and when you touch one it makes the sound of the particular thing. Maddox knows to touch the things to make the sounds and it keeps him entertained. They have a free version of this with just a few animals and then a full version for $0.99 that I bought with everything once I found that Maddox really liked it.

5.
Hipstamatic - This is a super fun camera app that takes really cool pictures. It has several different lenses, films, and flashes that all give pics a different look. I just got it a few days ago and haven't gotten to play around with it much but from what I have done I really like it!!

So those are probably my top 5 favorite apps. I also like the Google Reader app (called rss feed), iVideo (video camera for the 3g), INRIX Traffic app, Emoji Free, Twitter, and The Weather Channel. I have several apps for Maddox on my phone now that he really enjoys too. He likes Peek-a-Boo, Animal Fun, BabyFirst and Baby Phone...all of which were free!!

What's been going on...

Not much has been happening here at the Packer house lately. But I thought I would go ahead and post about a few minor things that are happening!!

One thing new is that Maddox has finally learned how to drink out of a straw. This is a fairly difficult thing to teach but I got him a sippy cup that helped him learn and now he is a pro at it. He thinks he is super cool when he gets to drink out of mommy's big cup :D.

Maddox is still not walking yet but I think we are getting closer. He is getting much better at walking while holding our hands but just won't do it on his own. Of course when the big day gets here I will let you all know :D.

He is a funny little boy these days. He says "Hi" and "Bye Bye" and likes to wave at EVERYONE!!! On a not so fabulous not he has started throwing some serious temper tantrums!! Not my favorite thing!!! Anytime he wants something that I won't give to him he totally melts down and just screams at me. Not fun!! I try to just ignore him like I have been told so hopefully that will help us move past this quickly!!

On an un-Maddox related note, I have decided to drop of the marathon training endeavor. I have found that it will just be too difficult to work in the time for both Collin and I to train while having Maddox too. I had to skip 2 days of my training program this past week and we are only in the beginning shorter runs so I can only imagine how it will be trying to fit in the longer runs the further into the program we get. Collin is still going to train and run it in December and I know he will do great but it just isn't going to work for me. I still plan on running to get/stay in shape but just not the crazy amount required to run a marathon.

So, I guess that's about it for us right now. Not much exciting but I kinda like it like that. :D

Old School...

So, every year my mom does a page for the Dallas Christian Football program and this year since my, not so little, little brother is a senior (so weird) she is doing something special!! Collin, both my sisters and I all graduated from DC as well so she is putting pictures of all of us when we were seniors and then a picture of Maddox in his Dallas Christian Chargers shirt around the page with a big picture of PJ in the middle. Of course Maddox gets the caption "Future Charger???" and the rest of our pictures will have the year we graduated. Pretty fun!! So I had to find a picture of Collin and I when we were seniors and since digital camera's weren't very popular back then I had to scan it. I thought since I don't have many pictures of us on my computer from our high school days it would be fun to post. So here is Collin and me at the "Back to School" Pep Rally to start off our senior year!! We had been dating for about 7 months at that point!! The thing that blows me away is how ridiculously skinny we both were...lol. And of course I have to post the picture of Maddox in his Charger gear cuz he is just so darn cute :D.

Cox Crew Photo shoot

Last week Jennifer and I took our kiddos out to a park to take some updated pictures. Most of them were of Laney (7) and Kolby (4) but we stuck Maddox in a few also!! I got some really cute ones, especially of Laney who has officially mastered posing for the camera!! Here are a few of my favs...
