Size 1
Well, my sweet boy has officially moved from newborn diapers to size one. I feel like this is a milestone and a bigger step than moving up to the next sizes will be. The size 1 just seems so much bigger than the newborn diapers do. We have kind of been switching back and forth for the last couple of weeks but I think it's now time to move into the size 1's completely. It's kinda a little bit sad because my baby it means my baby is getting that much bigger. Plus the size 1's don't have that nifty little yellow strip that changes to blue when they are wet like the newborn ones do. But at the same time it is so much fun to see all the new things he's learning and to watch him move into new stages of life.

2 Months
It doesn't seem possible that it has been 2 months (in 2 days) since Maddox was born but it has. It has been a wonderful 2 months and we are super thankful to have gotten a great report from the doctor today at his 2 month checkup. He is now 23 3/4 in. long which is in the 75th percentile (maybe we're going to have a tall boy :D) and now weighs 11 lbs. 14.6 oz. which is in the 50th percentile. His head now measures 39.4 cm which is in the 40th percentile. Besides getting all his measurements Dr. Connie checked him out and said he is "perfect." What every parents wants to hear. He also started getting his vaccinations today :(. He got 2 shots in one leg and 1 shot in the other, as well as, an oral vaccination. He did great. There was of course some crying but as soon as we got him in the car he fell right to sleep and hasn't seemed bothered by them since. We are so thankful that everything looked good and that he is a healthy growing little boy.
And now what you all really want...pictures. Here is our sweet boy at 2 months old :D

Rockies Faith Day
Today, Collin and I took Maddox to his first Rockies game. It was "Faith Day" today and several people from LCC went and sat together for the game. After the game there was a MercyMe concert but since it was pretty warm outside we decided to head home after the game ended. Maddox did really well and we had a fun time and the Rockies won :D. Here are a couple of pics from the game...

Uncle Clark and Aunt Lara
Collin and I were so excited to have his brother and wife come visit us for the last few days. This was their first time to visit us in Denver and their first time to meet Mr. Maddox. We had a great time with them here and already can't wait to see them again at Christmas.
They got here late Friday night so we just picked them up at the airport and came home. Then on Saturday we got up and headed to Boulder for the morning. All we ended up doing there was going to the CU campus and walking around there but since school hadn't started yet everything was pretty much closed. Here is a picture of us in front of their very distant relative Alfred Packer (the cannibal...look him up online lol)
After Boulder we headed back towards Denver and stopped in downtown to eat lunch at Rodizo, which is a Brazilian steakhouse kinda like Texas de Brazil. It was super yummy!! Saturday night we went and had dinner at Hacienda Colorado which is a really good Mexican food restaurant here.
On Sunday, we went to church then had lunch at CPK then spent the afternoon at home taking a nap, playing Wii and just hanging out. Then that night we had dinner at Claim Jumper with Clint and Danielle.
Then yesterday, Collin had to go to work in the morning so Clark got up and went to Bronco's training camp and Lara and I just hung out at home. Then we went to lunch at Rubio's and took them up to the church to show them around since they didn't really get a chance to see it all on Sunday. Then Collin and Clark went downtown for a meeting and Lara and I went and did a little shopping at the outlet mall. We then all met back up and had dinner at Cheesecake Factory.
It kinda seems like all we did while they were here is eat but we had fun none the less. We're sad they live so far away but had a great time with them here. Hopefully we have a chance to visit them in Memphis before they move somewhere else.
Here are a couple more pictures from their time here.

Sleep Update
So once again I have been neglecting my blog. I do feel like I have an excuse though...I mean I have a 7 week old to take care of. I thought I would update you on his sleeping because we have crossed a milestone. I told you in my update post that I was going to be getting a book called "On Becoming Baby Wise" which is about getting babies to sleep better. Let me just tell you that book is a life saver. I read it in a day and a half and started doing what it suggested immediately. It recommends getting the baby on a 2 1/2 - 3 hours feeding schedule and that in turn is supposed to help them sleep better.
The first night we put him in his room was really hard (this was last Tuesday). He cried for about 30 straight and then it was time for him to eat so I fed him and laid him back down and he cried for another 30 minutes and then finally fell asleep. It was so hard to not go in and pick him up but I resisted. He then slept until about 1 or 2 and woke up to eat and then went right back to sleep until about 5. Then the second night we laid him down and he cried for about 45 minutes and then fell asleep. He then slept until about 3 and woke up to eat and went right back to sleep until about 5:30. Then on Thursday night I laid him down and low and behold he did not cry at all. It was bliss!! He just laid in his bed for about 30 minutes and then fell asleep and he hasn't cried since when I have laid him down at night. He then slept until about 3 again that night and woke up to eat and went right back to sleep until about 6. Then on Friday night he again just laid in his bed for a while and fell asleep. His Uncle Clark and Aunt Lara came into town that night so he stayed up until about 1 to see them so he slept until about 4 or so to eat. Then Saturday night he went to bed about 10:30 and laid there until about 11 and then fell asleep. Then he slept until 5 am!! YEP...he slept all night...it was AMAZING!! Then last night he went to bed around 10:30 again and slept until 6 this morning. We are making progress people!! It is so nice to finally have several hours of uninterrupted sleep again!
As far as naps go, we are still working on those. He still cries when we lay him down for naps and fights going to sleep and staying asleep. He usually falls right to sleep when we get in the car but he just isn't comfortable in his bed yet for some reason. We will get there though.
So that's his sleeping habits right now. We are definitely in a much better place than we were a week ago. We are just loving every minute with our little guy and while it's sad that he is growing so quickly it's fun to see each new stage and all the new things he learns.
That's all for now. I'll blog about Clark and Lara's visit next and hopefully have a few pics.

6 weeks
Well, believe it or not, it has been 6 weeks since Maddox's birth. I had my postpartum doctor's appointment this morning and got a clean bill of health from my doctor. That is good news but means now that I have no excuse for not working off that remaining baby weight.
Maddox has really grown. Collin and I are having so much fun with him. Like I said he is starting to respond to us with smiles and oohs and ahhs. Here are a few pictures I snapped of him today...

What's New...
So I have been a blog slacker lately and I apologize for that. Here is a quick update on what has been going on around here.
We are loving watching Maddox grow. It seems like he is getting bigger by the day. I think the most fun thing he is doing now is that he has started smiling at us. It's awesome to have your baby start responding to you in that way. I haven't cought a good picture of his smile yet but it is super cute...I will post one when I get it!! He is also starting to find his voice. He is cooing and ahhing which is super cute as well. He is starting to get interested in his toys and the mobile on his swing too. He LOVES his swing. He takes a nap in there almost if not every day. But before he falls asleep he usually stares at his mobile and listens to the babbling brook sound, which he loves as well. He is a fan of his paci but still has a hard time keeping it in his mouth sometimes. He is still not sleeping great at night but we are getting there. I think it's getting close to time to move him into his own room but I'm just not 100% ready for that. Last night someone suggested to me to book called "On Becoming Baby Wise" which is supposedly about getting babies to sleep. She said it worked great for them so I will definitely be checking that out very soon!!
On a non-Maddox related note...I have decided to start reading the Twilight series. It has been suggested to me on SEVERAL occasions but I have been putting it off for some reason. So Ill let ya know how I like it :D.
Coming up for us...I have my 6 week postpartum doctor's appointment on Monday. Hopefully I get a clean bill of health so I can start working out...I have about 10 more lbs. to get back to my pre-preggers weight but am wanting to lose about 15 lbs total :D. We are also super excited because this coming Friday Clark and Lara (Collin's brother and his wife) are coming to visit us for the first time. They haven't gotten to meet Maddox so it will be fun to have them here and for them to get to see him. And then the next big thing is probably our trip to Texas. We will be going back mainly for ACU Lectureship but will stay a few days on both ends in Dallas to see our families. It will be Maddox's first trip to Texas so that will be fun. His grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncle are all super excited to see him again because they haven't seen him since he was born. That will be a really fun trip and we are definitely looking forward to it.
So, that's the update. There isn't a lot else going on with us. I'll try to get some new pics taken and posted soon so you can all see how my little man is growing :D
