Little Peanut at 15 Months

Miss Addison had her 15 month well check up today!   I was finally able to talk to her pediatrician about  the possibility of a dairy allergy.  Dr. Connie agreed that there is some kind of intolerance going on but didn't want to go as far as diagnosing her with an actual allergy to it since it doesn't cause a reaction that makes her throw up or get hives.  She recommended that we continue to stay away from dairy products and then reintroduce them when she turns 2.  If she still has issues at that point then we will do some more extensive allergy testing.  She told me to experiment with different types of milk like Coconut and Almond to see if I could get her to drink those so that she could get some calcium.  If in a couple of months she isn't drinking more of some kind of calcium fortified beverage Dr. Connie said we should start some kinds of supplement to make up of the lack of.

Because she hasn't been drinking any milk she didn't gain any weight in the last 3 months.  She weighed in at 20 lbs 2 oz. which is the 35%, she is 31 inches tall which is the 70%.  So she stayed in the same percentage range for height but dropped a bit in weight.  Dr. Connie wasn't too concerned at this point but I'm sure if the trend continues we will need to make some adjustments in her diet.  She is right on track developmentally and checked put perfectly in every other aspect!

Baby girl had to get 3 shots today and did not care for them one bit!  Poor little thing just cried and cried.  She took an early nap and slept for 2 hours and then got some tylenol and seems to be feeling ok now.

Here is a little of what she is up to today at 15 months old...
*Wears size 12-18 month clothes
*Wears size 3 shoes
*Wears size 3  diapers
*She goes to bed around 7 pm and wakes up between 7-7:30 am.
*She takes one nap each day around 1 pm and it's anywhere between 1:30-2:30 hours long!!
*Loves giving kisses and even says "mwwwwaahh" when doing it :D
*Says "mommy" "dada" "nite nite" "ruff ruff" when she sees a puppy and "cheese" when taking picture
*Shakes her head no when she doesn't want something being offered to her
*Still isn't walking but she stands up unsupported.  She just won't take those unassisted steps yet.
*She has 10 teeth...both 4 on top and bottom middle and then 2 top molars.
*Dances every time she hears any kind of music
*Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
*She loves shoes (just like her mama) Any time we are at a store with shoes she throws a fit until I try some on her :D.
*She loves taking bath still and thinks anytime we are in my bathroom it's bath time!

She is just such a sweet heart and a happy girl almost all the time!  I am so thankful that God has blessed us such a special gift.  We just love our little Lady Bug to pieces!!  I can't wait to see how she changes and grows as time goes by.  Here are some sweet pictures I snapped this afternoon of our sweet thing at 15 months old!

Oh my mercy what a little doll!!

Potty Chart

I decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to get more serious about getting Maddox completely potty trained.  He does great during the day we just haven't made the step to nap and night time without pull ups.

One of my friends at church mentioned that they used a calendar and put stickers on it every time her daughter woke up dry.  I immediately "stole" the idea and started it with Maddox.  I thought it would give him a better awareness of staying dry while he sleeps as well as get him excited about it too.   I made a big deal about going to the store to pick out stickers and printed him out some calendars that have cartoon characters on them.  He got super excited the day we went to get stickers because I left sister with Daddy and told him this was just a mommy and Maddox adventure and he just loved that.  I just taped the calendar to his bedroom door and he comes and asks me after he wakes up if he is dry.  (I think it's kind of hard for them to tell with pull up on because they are so absorbent so this should help with his awareness)

He has done pretty well but still isn't consistent enough to make the move to sleeping in unders yet.  I have about half a package of pull up left and am hoping to make the transition when those are gone but we will see.  I know it will probably require us just taking the leap but I am so not looking forward to changing sheets in the middle of the night!!  Those of you mommy's that have been though this have any tips for making that a little bit easier??

Top of the World

This past weekend we decided to take the kids to Mt. Evans, which is the tallest mountain in Colorado. The reason we chose Mt. Evans is because you can actually drive almost to the summit.  There is just a short hike to the very top that wasn't too terribly difficult with the kids.  The weather was great and we got to see some awesome views from the top!  Gods creation is just absolutely amazing especially from 14,258 ft. above sea level!!

the highest auto road in America

Denver Botanic Gardens

Last Friday we took the kids to the Denver Botanic Gardens.  We had never been there before but had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all the pretty flowers and fountains.  The kids had fun and I was able to take a lot of cute pictures.  The only thing missing was a open area of grass for the kids to run and play in.  It was a great day though.
