Our first night at home was a little rough. Maddox didn't sleep very much at all. I don't think he slept for more than 45 minutes anytime through out the night. But after going to our appointment today I think it was because he was hungry. I will explain more about that below when I tell about his check-up. I am hoping he does better tonight.
Maddox went in to the pediatrician's office to have his newborn check-up this morning. It wasn't a very in depth check...we didn't even see the dr., just a nurse and she just got his weight and checked his skin for jaundice. He now weighs 7 lbs 11 oz which means he has lost 9 % of his birth weight. The nurse said 2-10% is normal but since he was on the higher end suggested that we supplement him with some formula until my milk comes in. I started doing that at his feeding right after our appointment and he seems much happier and is sleeping better already. She also checked his skin and said he is a little yellow but not enough to diagnose him with jaundice. We go back tomorrow for a weight check to make sure he hasn't lost anymore weight and they will check his skin again to make sure is hasn't gotten worse.
That's about it for now. I'll let ya know how his check-up goes tomorrow and how night 2 in the Packer house goes as well!!
