Friday Favorites: TV Shows

I am a self proclaimed TV lover!  Over the years I have watched many complete seasons of shows! It one of the ways I like to just chill out.  I put the kids to bed and turn on my favorite show from the dvd. I love getting connected to the characters and watching their story lines unfold!  Here are some of my current and all time favorite shows...

1. Friends: One of my all time favorite shows.  I have the entire series on DVD.  I have seen every episode.  I remember watching the series finale in the dorm and I'm pretty sure some tears were shed.  I've found that reruns come on while the kids are napping so I sit and laugh to old episodes every day!! It's just so funny!

2. Grey's Anatomy:  I starting watching the almost from the very beginning and was immediately hooked.  I love the medical aspect of it but also all the characters.  They are returning for their 10th season this fall and I can't wait to see what happens.  There has been so much drama and so many surprises of the 9 seasons and I'm sure the 10th won't disappoint!

 3. Hart of Dixie: This is a new favorite of mine.  I just started watching it this past spring.  I got caught up on the first 2 seasons and can't wait for season 3.  I love Rachel Bilson.  I loved her on The OC and lover her in this more sophisticated role.  It is set in the south and is so entertaining!

4. House Hunters: Ok I know this show may not be real but that doesn't bother me.  I just love getting to see all the different houses all over the world.  I like seeing what the people end up choosing at the end.  HGTV in general is always a go to if nothing else is on.

5. Parenthood: Anyone else with me on this favorite?  I jumped on the bandwagon a little late with Parenthood but once I started I couldn't stop watching.  There is so much real life in it.  I love all the characters and how they each have their own story lines that are also intertwined with the whole family! Can't wait for this show to start up again in the fall!

6. The Bachelor/Bachelorette: My guilty pleasure.  I love the drama. I love the love.  I just love it.  I remember watching the very first season with my grandma many years ago.  My friend Danielle and I watch it together every Monday night while Collin is at elder's meeting.  I like picking my favorite at the beginning every season and seeing how far they go.  Everything about the concept of the show is wrong, I know, but I just can't help but watch every season to see if love is found!  Only 3 more episodes left in this season.  I wonder if Des will find her love?

Like I said I love TV.  The are some of my favorite shows.  There have been plenty more.  The OC, The Office, One Tree Hill, The Biggest Loser and more!  What are some of your favorite TV Shows??

9 Years

Yesterday, Collin and I celebrated our 9th anniversary!!  It's so crazy that much time has passed since the day we were married!  We celebrated last night with dinner at Rodizio, a Brazilian steakhouse and great seats at a Rockies game!  It was a fun night!!  Life has had its ups and downs but I am so thankful I get to go on this journey with Collin!  I can't wait to see what our 10th year holds for us!

Friday Favorites: Bands

I LOVE music!!  It's so amazing to me that a song can do so many things.  It can take you right back to a certain time or place.  It can help you remember a person. It can honor someone.  It can be a be worship. And so much more.   Each of the favorites I chose I have been to their concerts.  So, here are some of my favorite bands...

1. Carrie Underwood:  I just love her.  I pick her from the very beginning on American Idol and own all of her albums!  Country music is my favorite genre of music which of course she is one of the top artists in!  We went to her concert about 5 years ago and it was fantastic!  She has an amazing voice!

2. Keith Urban: One of my favorite male country artists.  He has a pop country sound that I really like.  Some girl and I went to his concert a couple of years ago and it was so great.  He did so much crowd interaction, which made the concert so much fun!  I would definitely like to see him again some time!

 3. Taylor Swift: I know some won't agree with me on this one but that's ok.  I think Taylor's music is fun and catchy!  She is one of the few you artists that has thus far remained a good example for her young fans!  I really appreciate that about her and hope she continues on that path.  My friend Danielle and I got free tickets to her concert a few years ago and had a blast.  She puts on a great show and it was so much fun watching the young girls scream and go nuts!

 4. Coldplay:  I just really started liking them in the last couple of years.  But not that I do I just love them.  They have some great roll your windows down and jam on a warm summer day songs!  I surprised Collin with tickets to their concert for father's day 2 years ago in Dallas.  It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to!  We had amazing seats and it was a fantastic show!  If they had come to Denver on that tour we would have absolutely seen them again!  We will for sure go to another Coldplay concert if at all possible!  Maddox even really like them.  Its so cute to watch him sing Paradise and Viva La Vida!!

5. Joh Mayer:  We have already seen him twice in concert here in Denver and just saw him for a 3rd time on Wednesday!  Collin and I both really like him have had a great time at his concerts!  We have listened to him for a long time. I think the first time I hear one of his songs was in our senior video like 11 years ago.  He has been one of our go to artists to listen to on long road trips!!  We are looking forward to seeing him at Red Rocks next week!

Obviously, that is just 5 of my top favorites!  I have plenty more but I'll leave it at those 5 for this Friday Favorites!  Who are some of your favorites?

Blog Series

In the past, I have participated in a blogging series called Friday Favorites.  I decided to start a new one just because I like to have something that I can blog about each week and not end up going weeks without blogging at all.

Each week I will pick a specific category and post about a few of my favorite things that fit in there.  Anyone is welcome to join in the series and post about their own favorite things on their blog.  If you do please comment with your blog address so I can see what your favorite things are too!  I will post what the next weeks category is at the end of each Friday Favorites post!  I will hopefully get to learn about some new products that you love that I haven't heard of or tried before! :D

We have tickets to several concerts coming up including Philip Phillips and John Mayer next week.  So, this weeks category will be: Bands

Dede's Visit

This week, while Collin was at a conference in Louisville, Diane came to visit and help me out with the kids.  It was a pretty quick visit but we had fun!  She got here Tuesday morning and we headed to Southlands, the outdoor mall, to have lunch and walk around a little.  On Wednesday we had to take sister to the doctor while Maddox was at Wacky Wednesdays at church.  Turns out she had a sinus infection and got started on antibiotics.  We just had pizza at home that night and took it easy.  Thursday morning Maddox had swim lessons and then we headed to the Denver Botanic Gardens.  The kids had a blast playing in the water and we hud a fun picnic lunch.  We grilled hot dogs for dinner and just played at the house that night.  She headed home this morning but it was too hard to say goodbye since we will be heading to Texas in less than a week!  I am thankful she was able to come visit.  It definitely makes Collin being gone much easer!

4th of July

This year for the 4th we were invited by some sweet friends to spend the weekend at their families house up in Breckenridge!  The house was absolutely beautiful and we had so much fun!  Breckenridge is such a fun little mountain town.  We really didn't do a lot while we were up there but just hanging out and relaxing was awesome!  We rode the gondola up to the ski area one day.  It is really neat up there in the summer.  They have all kinds of things set up like mini golf, a maze, a huge slide and several other things.  Other than that we pretty much just hung around the house the rest of the time.  It was a great weekend and we hope to be able to do it again sometime!
