An apple a day...

A year or so ago my friend M introduced me to the wonder that is honey-crisp apples. I have never really been a big apple eater but I absolutely love these apples. Apparently, they are only in season for a short time each year so you can't just go buy them anytime you want. I have looked for them at the store ever since I first had one at her house that day but have not been able to find them...until now. About 2 weeks ago, I walked into Safeway (our local grocery store) and there they were. I was so excited!! I only bought 3 of them because I knew we were going to leave for Texas soon. But they were so good. When we came back I headed back to the store to get some more. But they were gone. I was so sad. However, yesterday I decided to check in the grocery section of Super Target to see if they had them and they did. So I filled up one of those plastic produce bags and headed home happy. So if you haven't tried them you should go to your grocery store and see if they have some!! They are very yummy. Thanks M for introducing them to me!!

We're Baaaack

I bet some of you didn't even know we were gone. But we were. Collin and I just don't like to tell the world that we will be leaving our apartment unattended for a week so that anyone who wanted could come and steal all of our earthly belongings. But that is beside the point...the point is we are back from being gone.

And where were we gone to you might be asking...TEXAS!!! I love Texas!! But more that loving Texas, I love the people in Texas. Collin and I headed out last Sunday after church and flew into Dallas and then had a quick dinner with my parents and brother and then drove out to Abilene for ACU Lectureship NKA Summit. This is one of Collin's favorite times of the year. Not so much for me but I did love getting to spend an entire afternoon with my friend M'chelle and enjoyed having lunch with and attending some lectures with my friends Annie and Rachael and their husbands. Somehow I managed to not get a picture of M and me which stinks but here is a picture of Kyle, Annie, Me, Collin, David and Rachael (in that order) at one of the classes.
We were in Abilene until Wednesday evening then we headed back to Dallas to spend two nights with my family (Collin's parent's are out of town so we weren't able to see them).

We got to Dallas late Wednesday night so we didn't do anything except go to sleep. On Thursday, Collin went to have lunch with some people and I spent the day with my mom and sister, Heather. We had lunch at Blue Mesa, took the team meal to my brother's football team, got flu shots, and went to my brother's football game. Here are some pics from the game...
Morgie :D
Morgie and Mom
Heathie ( I know she hates this picture of her but I just like how it turned out with the light on here hair and the blurred background)
Morgan and Heather getting orders for the concession stand :D

Mom, Me and Nana
PJ during the game...He is number 89...I can't believe he is so tall now.

Random shot of the game
Prayer after the game
The fam...possibly this year's Christmas picture...we shall see.

We had a great time in Texas with our friends and family. I know I will always look forward to spending time in Texas. But it's nice to be back at our apartment with our little dog!!

Women of Faith (Part 2)

So, like I said before, yesterday and today I went to the Women of Faith Conference with several ladies from my church. We had a good time hanging out and staying downtown. I'll be honest, conferences have never really been my kind of thing. I have a really short attention span so it's hard for me to sit for hours on end listening to different speakers. But I had a good time none the less. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Women of Faith

Tonight and all day tomorrow is the Women of Faith Conference here in Denver. I am going with several ladies from church and will be staying downtown in a hotel tonight. I've never been one who was big on ladies events but it should be fun. Hopefully, I will be able to take some pictures and will let you know how it goes!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband!!

Last night Collin got me one of the best surprises!!! He called me at about 4:00 and told me we were going to dinner with our friends Daniel and Jennifer and their kids at Chuck E. Cheese and then going out after. So we went to dinner and then headed out at about 6:30 or so. They said we were just going to go downtown to see what was going on and hang out. Denver has a pretty cool downtown so I didn't even think twice about it.

Daniel took a sort of round about way to get there so until we turned into the Pepsi Center I honestly thought we were just going to walk down the 16th St. Mall downtown. Once we made that turn though I realized what was happening. We were going to the Carrie Underwood concert!! She is one of my favorite singers and I had been wanting to go for months since I first found out she was coming. I had been casually been dropping hints to Collin for a while that I wanted to go but had decided that it wasn't going to happen. Once we got there though I was so excited!! I couldn't believe it!!

A group called Lady Antebellum opened for her and they were pretty good. I didn't really know any of their songs but I liked them. Then the second opening act was Randy Travis. It was great because my sisters and I grew up listening to him so it brought back lots of fun memories! Then came Carrie!! She was A-mazing!! And I'm pretty sure she waved at Jennifer and me!! ;) I have always said that American Idol contestants are better in concert than most people because they are more used to singing live and it was true!! She was great!! I was so glad to have been there!!

Once again I forgot my camera...since I didn't know we were going I wasn't able to be prepared!! But here are a few really grainy pictures I took on my cell phone. You probably can't see very well but it's the best I could come up with :D

Thanks Jennifer and Daniel for helping with the surprise!! And thank you Collin for a great surprise and an awesome night!!! I love you!! You are the best!!!

Look what I made!!!

Well, as you can see I have changed the look of my blog. The last one I had was made by a girl that charges for it and I figured I couldn't pay every time I wanted a change. So, I decided it was time for me to figure out how it all works for myself and this is what I have come up with for a first attempt. All of that html stuff can get a little confusing but I think I have it figured out enough to accomplish what I want. Let me know what you think!!

Bronco's Mania

Thanks to a very generous member at our church Collin and I have officially been to our first Bronco's game...and let me tell you it was a good one!! The Bronco's led the Chargers 31-17 at halftime. The Chargers then outscored the Bronco's 21-0 in the 2nd half UNTIL the last 30 or so seconds. The Bronco's went down the field and due to a bad call by the refs on a fumble by Cutler were able to score a touchdown. This put them down one with the extra point pending which if made would most likely send the game to overtime. Then with just under 30 seconds left on the clock the Bronco's decide to go for 2 and the win. With everyone in the stadium on their feet they get the 2 point conversion leaving 24 seconds for the Chargers to get down the field and score. They threw the hail Mary which dropped incomplete and the Bronco's won. It was pretty chaotic. There were even some Chargers fans near us that nearly got into a fight over it! It was pretty exciting!!

Since we got the tickets so last minute in the rush to have lunch and change before the game I forgot to grab my camera. But here are a couple of pics I took on my phone.

Fall Family Festival

Let me just start out by saying I love fall time!! The cool weather coming in, wearing long-sleeved t-shirts (my favorite), the leaves changing, candy corn (which I have sitting on my coffee table :D) and so much more!! With that being said, tomorrow is the Fall Family Festival at our church. It is an event they have every year that is open to the community. They have games, blow-up toys, train rides, face painting, a pumpkin patch, craft booths, a car show and much more. I have heard from so many that it is so much fun!! I am really looking forward to being there tomorrow. And the great thing is that being in Colorado you can have a fall-themed event in the beginning of September and it actually feels like fall!! It's great!!

Every one at church has been asked to sign up to man the booths and help out where needed. I have volunteered to help take pictures. I am super excited about this because as you know I just got my new camera and haven't really had a chance to use it very much yet. So that should be a lot of fun! And since I will be responsible for taking pictures I should get a lot and will definitely share them with you on here!! So be looking forward to those later tomorrow evening!! And if you live in the area you should definitely come check things out. It will be held in the Littleton Church of Christ parking lot from 10-2!! Hope to see you there!!

New Music Tuesday and a few cards

Today I got the new Jessica Simpson CD "Do You Know." I know a lot of people don't like her for one reason or another but I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a fan. I mean you have to admit the girl can sing! She has decided to go country and I really like it. I would recommend you check it out if you are in to country music!!

On a side note...here are a few more cards I have made recently!
